Peter & the Wolf for Schools
ab
Holly Duff, Alan Crane (Directors of West Coast Chamber Music)
along with Ross Curran and Angela Brown, have adapted this presentation for tours in B.C. schools.
The score of this musical folktale by Prokofiev recreated by West Coast Chamber Music, uses a variety of wind instruments (Ross Curran) piano (Alan Crane) narration and percussion (Holly Duff). In this classic tale, Angela Brown brings to life each of the story’s characters through the use of dance, mime pantomime, colourful body puppets, a rod puppet and a mask.
This is Holly, Alan and Angela’s third collaboration. They have also produced two storytelling performances for theatre and schools with dance (modern and Renaissance) puppets and music, based on French Canadian Folk Tales and told in a blend of French & English. Jean Pierre & the Old Witch and Golden Hair
Peter with the grandfather and the cat
WCCM’s new show was premiered at the Langley Community Music School’s community day open house & as part of WCCM’s concert season. Both performances were hugely successful with much positive audience feedback.
