Nylon Zoo Whale
This whale big, beautiful, blue whale (orca) is the the largest mammal in the world! You see it in photo above at the Pacific Rim Whale Festival. The Whale is created by world-renowned artist Evelyn Roth.
One of the interactive stories is called ‘Whale of an Island’. It is about a group of pirates wassailing the sea looking for somewhere to anchor their ship. They see what they think is an island but it turns out it’s the back of a big, blue whale. The whale is staying very still on the surface of the water, waiting for a school of fish to come swimming into her mouth (as wide as a valley). That way, she can snatch up a tasty lunch for herself and her baby. Instant lunch!
